Mission

At Almende, we believe that the challenges which modern organizations face have a lot to do with the way they are organized.

As organizations grow bigger, structures tend to become more complex and centralized. Although this makes sense from a managerial point of view, it can hamper the effectiveness of the individual. People want to be creative, innovative and pro-active, but are often held back by overly complex organizational  and structures.

Facilitating self-organization

We believe that it is much more effective to allow individuals to organize themselves. Management and ICT should be there to facilitate employees, not to inspect, regulate and control them. Almende envisions new forms of organization which better realize the potential of people. ICT and technology should be used to help people perform their work.

Our mission is to maximize the synergy among people and between those people and the machines that work with them. We do extensive academic research into the fundamentals of self-organization, and translate this to unique solutions that enable organizations to support their people with innovative technologies.
